I had food delivered, it came quick and fresh. I liked the presentation of the food, but not too impressed how octopus was cooked- a little too chewy, skin was flabby and the shrimp taco and camarones al mojo de ajo was kinda lack of taste. Chips are rock hard.. but salsa and quac are very good. Balbacoa taco was a bit greasy but tastes nice. I am sure if I dined in, food would have been tastier.
Service was great, the inside was clean and brightly decorated, very fun. We went for lunch, there were some nice lunch menu options and the table salsa was very good. It was a little bit pricey and one star down for the horrible mannequin in the women's bathroom that yells at you in a man's voice when you open the door. It was pretty startling, and bathrooms are not where you want to be surprised. No thanks.
Fun ambience, great menu, kind service. This would be fun for children too. I got tacos which were delicious but I was pretty unladylike while eating them because they had to be eaten with my hands and the filling got all over. Oh well. Nominated for best of Lincolwood/ Skokie.
Love this place. Best service and food I have had in a while. Played a lot of great songs. The management in this restaurant is solid 10/10 Marcos and the bar manager (I cannot remember his name) were fantastic. I appreciate everything you guys do and look forward to coming back.
It's new so it's clean and bright and there are several different areas: a bar, a couple dining areas, and what is called their patio which is in front and can be open air or glassed in. Decent portions, plenty of choices, something for everyone essentially. Enthusiastic servers made the difference. We have enjoyed each visit here.
Came for dinner yesterday with my cousins after 9 pm and even though they close at 9.30 we were welcomed whole heartedly. Nice cozy ambiance of the restaurant with great quotes all around to read while you enjoy your free chips and salsa. The food priced fairly high but it was good. Worth checking out but other establishments like Casa Margarita probably a better choice if you don't want to spend as much.
We went here on a Tuesday around 5 pm and they actually have Taco Tuesday, you get free taco if you buy two and get a mango margarita for $8. We also ordered the bone marrow and chicharron with guac. Everything tasted delicious. Place is also super fun with whimsical decoration. Service for the most part is attentive. Love the free parking.
What a great place to go to! We went for our friends' going away lunch. Our server, Omar, was a joy! Yall better give this dude a raise, he was accommodating, great to talk to, and was helpful with our questions. The ambiance, of course, is similar to other Fat Rosie's locations. Latino decor everywhere but also this location is spaced out well. By the way, spacious parking so a great place to go to for that! The food was so good! I honestly, devoured my tacos. I wanted more of them! I wish it came with more. The sauce was so good I almost drank it all! And of course the rice was great too. Can't wait to come back! Appreciate yall!
In an area that does not have too many Mexican options, this is a welcome addition. Shrimps in shrimp cocktails were little tough and the meat in meat fishes ( pork tamale & carne asada tacos) we're little dry. However, all the dishes had good flavors nevertheless. Service was also great and attentive, which is hard to find these days with staff shortage. It was little over the top with a photographer walking around with sombreros and taking photos for postcards (one free and additional ones to sell). Quiet and intimate, this place is not. Nevertheless, looking forward to returning and trying their alcoholic beverages soon.
I have not been to a place with more birthday celebrations than this Fat Rosie's location. The couple of times I've been here, there were birthday desserts with bright candle/firework and huge sombreros left and right. These festivities made the place joyous and fun. I made reservations through OpenTable and I highly suggest doing this. I've dined at one of the separated dining room, and it was LOUD. Not only was the room packed with customers but the music was extremely loud too. I found available seats at the bar on my second visit so I decided to dine there instead. It was not AS loud but I guess they really want to have that party vibe going on for the whole restaurant. The noise level was more tolerable dining at the bar area. For food, I've tried: POLLO AL CHIPOTLE- the chicken was cooked and seasoned really well and I also liked the chipotle sauce. For me, it would have been better and make the dish more Mexican if it came with rice rather than mashed potatoes. SHRIMP, MUSHROOMS, SHRIMP TACOS- they were all delicious. My favorite was the mushroom taco, it had so much flavor. QUESABIRRIA- the meat was very tender and flavorful STEAK FAJITA- I wasn't a big fan of the meat. It was just ok. The rice and beans were good though. Overall, the service was efficient and friendly (especially at the bar area). The place was clean and had a very lively vibe. I would definitely come back here. Oh and btw, the margaritas were amazing!
